Slow Cooked Shredded Beef

The How To:


  • 3 lb. Chuck Roast
  • 2 c. Beef Stock
  • 3 tbsp. Caffe Tailgate
  • 1 tsp. Ultimate Slice
  • 1 Bay Leaf
  • 1 Red Onion (chopped)
  • 4 Garlic Cloves (minced)
  • 1 jar Pepperoncini (sliced with juice)
  • 1/4 tsp. Red Pepper Flake (optional)
  • Bread Rolls (optional)
  • Provolone Cheese (optional for sammie)


  1. Place pan that fit Chuck Roast on burner turned to medium. Season Chuck Roast with Caffe Tailgate. Sear Chuck Roast on all sides.
  2. While searing, place all other ingredients into a the crock pot. Stir until it is all mixed together.
  3. After searing, place Chuck Roast into crock pot. Cook on high for 4 hours or cook on low for 8 hours.
  4. When fork tender, pull out Bay Leaf. Shred Beef.
  5. Serve on mashed potatoes, polenta, or make some sammies out of it! Just make sure to dip it!


  • If you have a smoker, smoke the Chuck Roast for 2 hours and then place it in the crock pot.
  • Try different seasonings with the Chuck Roast (Backyard Burger Blend, Steakhouse, Texas Crutch, etc)

Common Questions

  1. I don't have a pan big enough to sear it?

That's okay! Either cut it into chucks that make sense for the pan or just skip that part. It isn't crucial for the recipe to work.
